Ingredients

  • 60 ml Water
  • 25 g Butter
  • 40 g Plain Flour
  • 1 egg
  • 45 g Grated Cheese Emmental or Comté
  • 1 pinch Salt

Instructions

  • Prepare and weigh all the ingredients;
  • Preheat the oven (210°C);
  • In a saucepan, heat the water and the butter until well melted; keep stirring;
  • Pour the flour in one time and stir until incorporated;
  • Continue turning the dough until it forms one smooth ball; keep heating for 2 minutes;
  • Remove the saucepan out of the stove; add the egg;
  • Stir until smooth;
  • Add the cheese; stir until smooth;
  • Put the dough in a pastry bag;
    If you don't have a pastry bag, you can use a freezing bag (cut a corner of the freezing bag)
  • Form small balls (2 centimeters) on a baking tray;
  • Use a greaseproof paper or grease lightly the baking tray;
  • Bake, mid-level oven position, for 20-30 minutes according to the size of your chouquettes;
  • Stop when chouquettes are well browned;
  • Chouquettes can be eaten warm or cold;
